Erasmus in Cyprus 2018

From March to June I lived in Cyprus, it's a small island in the farther east of the Mediterranean sea next to Turkey, Libanon, Israel, Egypt and Syria (most people don't even know where to put it in a map). If you are from a European Union country or live in one, you know what's a Erasmus; if not it's a scholarship (yep money given by the EU) which allows you to go to any EU country to study, work or do an internship and you get a certificate for it (it's mainly addressed to university students but you can get one even if you're not so don't panick).

I lived in Limassol, it’s the principal port of the island and practically the capital since both Nicosia and the island itself is divided between turkish-cypriots and greek-cypriots. This leads to Limassol to be a multicultural city and be more advanced than the rest of the island. Half of the population in this city is Russians, English, Filipinos and Indians, so that almost everyone speaks English to a greater or lesser extent and it turns out quite easy to move around for those of us who don’t speak Greek and people is always willing to help if you need to.

Through out my time there I also visited Nicosia, Paphos, Larnaca, Kourion, Kolossi, Omodos and Aya Napa (yes I visited it as much as I could). Actualy I was there doing an internship aka working but I toke advantage of any free time during those 3 months.

You also learn basics things that if you’re as lucky as me you simply haven’t even propose yourself: manage the money for it to last till the end of the month instead of a holiday week, put the washing machine (because yes ladies and gentlemen, I haven’t done it in my life), cook every day and not just every now and then like we usually do, or buying depending on the offers because as you can imagine each cent counts if you want to go out or buy you something or even visit places too. 

That island was simple spectacular, I fell in love with it from day one and I'm conpletely sure I will go back.
